We are within a twenty five minute drive from three of Scotland’s premier waters. Set in their own individually, unique Scottish landscape. CARRON VALLEY RESERVOIR, NORTH THIRD TROUT FISHERY, and the LAKE OF MENTIETH offer superb trout fishing for quality rainbows, blues as well as stocked and wild browns. There are also numerous smaller, well stocked stillwaters within easy reach.

Forty minutes to the west, lies the rugged splendour of LOCH LOMOND and the Trossachs and an hour to the east is the world famous LOCH LEVEN, the traditional home of loch style fly fishing. A short drive to the north are the mighty rivers and spectacular lochs of Perthshire.

In June and July, Highland Trout mount expeditions to Badenloch and Assynt in Sutherland, where the wild trout fishing is simply world class. There are simply dozens of lochs of all shapes and sizes, many of which never see an angler from one year to the next. The trout are as wild as the wind and have never seen a trout pellet.

Highland Trout recognises the need for conservation and we encourage the use of knotless mesh in landing nets and the safe handling and release of trout. However we have no problems with clients taking a few fish for the table.
